The Eastern Shore is a 15-mile strip of land on the western-most edge of Baldwin County in southern Alabama bordered by the historic Mobile Bay. The Spanish, French and English first settled here in the 1700s. The communities consist of three cities: Spanish Fort, Daphne and Fairhope. Other beautiful areas include Blakeley, Montrose, Battles Wharf and Point Clear.

Throughout its history, people have come here in search of a better way of life, and it still holds true today. The lifestyle here is easy going, centered around golfing, fishing, biking, sailing, and community involvement.

Beautiful Mobile Bay empties into the Gulf of Mexico, where white sand beaches stretch along the coast about 40 miles south of Fairhope. Sprawling old live oak and magnolia trees, camellias and azaleas give a feeling of the deep south.  Well preserved historic homes are complemented by new developments on golf courses.

Quality health care is readily available on the Eastern Shore. Thomas Hospital is an integral part of the Eastern Shore community. In addition to providing medical and diagnostic services, the hospital staff and 200-plus physicians on the medical staff are committed to promoting good health in the community.
